1. Amb. Lee Do-hoon, Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, who held a Republic of Korea-United States meeting of top negotiators on the North Korean nuclear issue in Washington DC on March 29, visited Tokyo and held an ROK-Japan meeting of top negotiators on the issue with Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kenji Kanasugi on April 1.

2. The two sides shared assessments of the current situation on the Korean Peninsula in the wake of the second US-North Korea summit and exchanged views on ways that the ROK and Japan can work together for tangible progress toward a complete denuclearization and the establishment of a permanent peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.

3. The two sides agreed to continue close communication and cooperation with each other by building on the outcome of the meeting.
