1. The government of the Republic of Korea is deeply concerned that the attack on the K1 military base in Kirkuk, the Republic of Iraq, has caused casualties of a US citizen as well as US and Iraqi soldiers, and hopes that the situation in the region will be stabilized swiftly.

2. The ROK government also expresses concern over the recent attacks on the United States Embassy in Iraq. The security of diplomatic missions and their personnel must be fully ensured in accordance with the international law.
