1. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun will visit Washington D.C. from June 8 to 10 to hold a ROK-U.S. Vice Foreign Ministerial Consultation with Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman on June 9.
2. This is the first Vice Foreign Ministerial Consultation between the Republic of Korea and the United States since Deputy Secretary of State Sherman’s inauguration. The two sides will extensively discuss issues of shared interest, including follow-up measures to the latest ROK-U.S. Summit, bilateral relations, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, as well as regional and global affairs.
